Alberta closing costs (Calgary).
How Alberta land title fees work
Alberta charges a small registration fee for changes to land title, there is no land transfer tax. The registration fee for the title transfer is $50 + $2 per $5,000 of property value. The mortgage registration fee is $50 + $1.50 per $5,000 of mortgage value. On a $750,000 home with a $600,000 mortgage that is roughly $350 + $230 = $580 in land title fees, paid through your lawyer at closing.
