Edgemont vs Hamptons — NW Calgary Comparison

By Ryan Van Spengen · Calgary REALTOR® since 2014 · Last reviewed 2026-05-10

The honest comparison

These two communities sit side by side and trade buyers regularly. Both are upper-tier NW family destinations.

Edgemont is older with the city/mountain view ridge streets as the defining premium product. Nose Hill Park access from many streets is a daily benefit. The IB programme at Sir Winston Churchill is the headline pull.

Hamptons is newer on average and centres around the Hamptons Golf Course. Backing-on-golf-course homes command meaningful premiums. The streetscape is more uniform and the housing stock is more consistently executive detached.

For KARAKTER clients choosing between the two: Edgemont if view-lot or Nose Hill access is priority; Hamptons if golf-course backing or newer construction matters more.
